I began to dedicate my time to track starting in the 7th grade. I hold the 8th grade school records for the triple jump and the 400m at Orchard middle school in Wenatchee, WA. My freshman year I played football and came out with a herniated disc and a torn meniscus that prevented me from running track that year. A year later during my sophomore year I earned a varsity letter and was top 5 in the Columbia basin big-9 for the 400m. My junior year I suffered from hamstring strains that hindered my track season leading to me running only in the first and last meet of the season. I strive to be the best in everything I do, whether it is in school or out on the track field. I bring banter talk to practice everyday but when it comes to work, I focus and do the work. I take AP courses in school and try to maintain my GPA higher than a 3.5. Competing in track I believe will help shape the person I want to become in the future and will help me better understand the job that I would later like to pursue. Track has given me the opportunity to meet new people and has helped me develop life long relationships with people across the state. |
