His military honors include the Navy Commendation Medal, 6 Navy Achievement Medals, and 2 National Defense Medals; representing outstanding service to his country.
Coach Jackson spent several years coaching military teams and eventually moved on to found SnoKing Stallions USATF Track and Field Team, along with another military veteran. The KnoKing Stallions went on to produce several USATF National Qualifiers over the years. Coach Jackson and his staff are looking forward to having the same type of success with Spokane Speed Academy! Coach Jackson is a Rotarian, serves as a Board Member for Community in Schools of Spokane County and founded Jackson Sports Academy a Non Profit sports camp that offered low income and at risk youth of Spokane County a safe and healthy place to spend their summers. Coach Jackson considers his experiences helping kids overcome struggles, either in the classroom or their personal lives, as his most important accomplishment as a coach. Coach Jackson believes in a positive environment where encouragement and inspiration are the key elements that motivate youth to make better decisions. He also believes in keeping busy; using both the body and mind to stay fit. Coach Jackson founded Spokane Speed Academy with the hopes of providing an opportunity for the youth of Spokane County and the surrounding areas to compete at the highest level in Track and Field during the summer months. Spokane County has a very rich Track and Field tradition ... with our great high school programs (North Central, Mead, Central Valley, Ferris, and Lewis & Clark), summer track teams (Spokane Mercury), and great coaches, Spokane Speed Academy would be honored to be apart of such a great Track and Field tradition! |
