I started playing soccer at age 4 doing Soccer Tots and played until 8th grade, mostly on defense as a center back. My club soccer team, Washington East, won the Apple Cup Tournament in 2016, and after that year, I shifted my athletic interest to volley ball and track. Starting in 7th grade, I competed in middle school track and field. I did the 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump, and ran on the 4x100 meter relay. In 8th grade, my relay won the All City championship and I placed 2nd in the 100 meters and 5th in the long jump. This summer I am running with Spokane Speed Academy for the first time and I am more and more excited about the sport of track and field. I especially love relays because of the team aspect. That’s also why I like playing volleyball, which I also started competing in in middle school. I plan to play volleyball and to compete in Track and Field in high school. Since my mom is an educator, academics have always been important to me. I was an honors student throughout middle school, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. My favorite subject is Spanish. I am really looking forward to my high school years because I know that when I am around fun, competitive people I will challenge myself to do things I would not do on my own. |
