Before this I had no running experience, as I did not compete in many sports as a child. It did not take me long to fall in love with track, and I was blessed by an amazing support group who coached, inspired, trained, and encouraged me while my passion for the sport grew. One of the reasons I love track is because of the variety of skill and potential for each event. Long and short distance runners, jumpers and throwers are all united as one team in a single sport that gives each athlete the opportunity to shine and display their talents. I compete mainly in the 400m, and triple jump, this season. This is my first time ever participating in summer track, and I honor this opportunity to train under amazing coaches who care about us and help us reach our potential as athletes. This program has built on my desire for excellence to help me achieve my goals as a track athlete. |
