Competing for Spokane Speed Academy, I have made friends with other runners who inspire me to get better but also have become good friends. I love the sport of track and field because of the team aspect. The relays are my favorite event. In the 4x400 relay, I run the third leg, which is a challenge because I have to make up distance and get the stick to my team mate on the anchor leg. Last year, Nationals was a big challenge for my relay team; we didn’t place well but we really improved. In school, World History is my favorite because of learning about events in other cultures. In addition to my teammates, my family is a great support to me. My older sister, Kaitlyn, threw shot for Lewis Clark High School. My mom has also been awesome support. After high school, I hope to attend college on a track scholarship. |
