I was born and raised in the small farming community of Wilbur, WA. My class graduated 42 students this year. I turned out for track my freshman year because a coach thought that my size would be good for throwing. I tried it and was hooked. Living in such a small town, our high school team did not have a throws coach, so I joined club track so I could learn all I could. My freshman year my best throw in shot put was 30 ft; currently my PR is 55’3”. My PR in discus my freshman year was 85 ft; now my PR is 164’. I could not have done it without my club coaches.
