Class of 2022 Click here for Fair’s Athletic.net profile (St. George’s and SSA): https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=13827866 I am originally from a small village in Ghana (West Africa) and immigrated to the US after I was adopted at 7 yrs old. I first ran track in the 7th grade for the Saint George’s School (SGS). I also ran cross-country in the 4th-8th grades but never loved it. I prefer shorter distance and faster speeds! We don’t actually have a track at SGS so the meets were our only chance to run on a track. I started in the 200 m, 400 m, and long jump events during middle school. I joined SSA the summer after 8th grade and continued with these events. I improved a lot and our 4x400 relay team (15-16) qualified for the USATF JO Nationals and I got to compete in this event (placed 20th) and also on the 4x100 team as an alternate. For my 9th grade year at SGS, I switched to mostly running the 100 m, 200 m and relays. At the WIAA 2B State Championships, I was the anchor leg on both the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams, and we were the state champions and set new school records in both events. I also placed 3rd in the open 100 m. I ran for SSA for the 2019 indoor season and continued this summer. I am running on the 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams this year at nationals. We needed another relay team member for the 4x800 team and I agreed even though I have never run this distance and don’t plan to run it again… I hope to attend college and graduate school to become a physical therapist. |
