I have always loved to run fast. I ran on the cross-country team at Saint George’s School (SGS) in the 4th-7th grades, but hated the longer distances. I joined the SGS high school soccer team as an 8th grader so that I would not have to do XC and we won the WIAA 1B/2B Soccer State Championships! I started on the middle school track team at SGS in the 7th grade. There is no track at SGS so the meets were the only time we could run on a track. I ran the 100 m, 200 m, and long jump events. I set the school records for the 100 m and 200 m in both 7th and 8th grade and won 1st place in every race that I entered in middle school. I joined SSA the summer after 7th grade and continued with these events. I qualified for the 100 m at the USATF JO Nationals and ran in the 13-14 age group. The JO series was my first time to run against girls that are faster than me! This year I am running the 4x400 at nationals in the 15-16 age group. Next year I am moving to Mead High School for 9th grade. I am excited about running for a bigger school and having tougher competition in the 4A league. I usually run to the competition and need to be pushed to get faster. I like SSA because I can run against so many fast girls. I hope to attend college and run track. I would like to be a teacher some day or maybe a chiropractor. I really love working with kids. |
